Por ejemplo, Karen Gillan<\/strong> (Guardianes de la Galaxia<\/em>) tendrá un papel doble en Dual<\/strong><\/a>, thriller<\/em> satírico de ciencia ficción en manos de Riley Stearns<\/strong> (La mejor defensa es un ataque<\/em>). La Gillan<\/strong> se verá acompañada por Aaron Paul<\/strong> ("Breaking Bad"<\/em> o "Westworld"<\/em>), Martha Kelly<\/strong> (Historia de matrimonio<\/em>), y, aparentemente breve, Jesse Eisenberg<\/strong> (Vivarium<\/em>). El film, escrito por el propio Stearns<\/strong>, contará la historia de una mujer (Gillan<\/strong>) que, tras ser diagnosticada con una enfermedad terminal, optará por una idea "arriesgada"… llevar adelante un proceso de clonación para aliviar la pérdida a familiares y amigos. Pero claro, cuando milagrosamente se recupere, y todos sus intentos por que el clon sea retirado de circulación fallen, pues la cosa derivaré en duelo a muerte. En parte recuerda, si no fuera porque ella ha pedido el clon, a El 6º día<\/strong> (The 6th Day<\/em>) con el maestro Schwarzenegger<\/strong> duplicado e intentando salir vivo.<\/p>\n

Karen Gillan (Guardianes de la Galaxia) tendrá un papel doble en Dual<\/em><\/p>\n

Y hablando de ciencia ficción, Ridley Scott<\/strong> se ha hecho con "The End of October"<\/strong><\/a>, una novela de pandemia apocalíptica escrita por Lawrence Wright<\/strong>. El plan es hacer una película, que podría dirigir el propio Scott<\/strong>, o una serie de televisión, que igualmente produciría bajo su sello Scott Free<\/strong>. La obra arranca con el relato de la muerte de 47 jóvenes internos de un campo de refugiados para homosexuales situado al oeste de la isla de Java, en Indonesia. Pronto, el virus se expande y obliga a poner en cuarentena a la ciudad de La Meca, atestada de 3 millones de fieles. A partir de ahí se cuenta el periplo de un epidemiólogo de la OMS en la lucha por encontrar la cura para un virus mortal antes de que acabe con la civilización. Parece ser que de alguna forma la obra funciona como premonición de esto que estamos sufriendo ahora mismo con el COVID-19 pero con resultados más desoladores si cabe (y eso que la que está cayendo es terrible). Entre Contagio<\/strong> (Contagion<\/em>) o Guerra Mundial Z<\/strong> (World War Z<\/em>), creo que ya tenemos suficiente… aunque Ridley Scott<\/strong> opine lo contrario.<\/p>\n

Ridley Scott se ha hecho con "The End of October"… pandemia al canto<\/em><\/p>\n

Y otra de ciencia ficción que será adaptada para televisión es "The Girl Who Could Move Sh*t’ With Her Mind"<\/strong><\/a>, novela de ciencia ficción escrta por Jackson Ford<\/strong> y que ha sido adquirida por Alex Kurtzman<\/strong> (Star Trek<\/em>). La obra, descrita como una fusión de "Alias"<\/strong> y los "X-Men"<\/strong> en un sucia versión de la ciudad de Los Angeles, se centra en una mujer con habilidades telequinéticas que trabaja como agente secreto del gobierno. Un grotesco asesinato, traiciones, ganas de pasar página y una conspiración que amenaza con desencadenar una guerra clandestina e inesperada por todos. Ah, hay ya secuela para la novela, "Random Sh*t Flying Through the Air"<\/strong> se titula.<\/p>\n

Mutantes y gobierno en "The Girl Who Could Move Sh*t’ With Her Mind"<\/em><\/p>\n

Para terminar indicar que el universo de "Mundodisco"<\/strong> de Terry Pratchett<\/strong> será serie de televisión<\/a>, gracias a Narrativia<\/strong>, la empresa del propio Pratchett fundada en 2012, Motive Pictures<\/strong> y Endeavor Content<\/strong>. No se sabe nada más. Y sobre "Pesadillas"<\/strong>, pues Neal H. Moritz<\/strong> se anima con la obra de R.L. Stine<\/strong><\/a> para, junto a Scholastic Entertainment<\/strong>, producir una serie de televisión… otra serie de televisión. Ah, y parece ser que finalmente Daft Punk<\/strong> no pondrá la música a Dark Glasses<\/strong> de Dario Argento<\/strong><\/a> como se indicó ayer en medios norteamericanos<\/a>.<\/p>\n
