Mañana día 1 de febrero se producen dos hechos excepcionales entorno a este blog. Primero, se estrena la ansiada por muchos Cloverfield a.k.a. Monstruoso <\/a> (2008) y, segundo, se dará acceso a la quiniela de los Oscar® 2008<\/strong>. Este año, y como estamos celebrando el lustro de vida de Uruloki :: Blog<\/strong>, los cinco años se cumplen el 3 de febrero<\/a>, habrá algún detalle especial… estad atentos. Bueno, toca dejarse de monsergas y ponerse al día con las últimas noticias surgidas en el dinámico cine del otro lado del charco.<\/p>\n

Harry Knowles ha escrito un curioso artículo en su web Ain’t It Cool<\/a> donde le pide a Universal Pictures<\/strong> que no añadan como favorito de sustitutos de Mark Romanek<\/a> a Brett Ratner<\/a>. Parece ser que tras las espantada del exquisito director de las garras de The Wolf Man<\/a> (2009), Universal Pictures<\/strong> anda desesperada buscando un director que se ponga ya a los mandos del nuevo remake<\/em> de las monster movies<\/em> que dieron tanto éxito a la compañía hace eones. Todo hace pensar que tanto Breck Eisner<\/a> como Matt Reeves<\/a> están demasiado ocupados y Universal<\/strong> ha tirado de lista de posibles saliendo en primer lugar el odiado Ratner<\/strong>. Algo que no se le puede negar a Ratner<\/strong> es su increíble capacidad a la hora de dirigir productos que recaudan grandes cantidades de dinero, es el responsable de X-Men 3: La decisión final<\/a> (2006), Dragón rojo<\/a> (2002), Hora punta<\/a> (1998), Hora punta 2<\/a> (2001), Hora punta 3<\/a> (2007). Pero también hay que observar más allá de las cifras y ver las consecuencias de su trabajo… pura caspa. No se cuanto de verdad hay en este rumor ya que últimamente Ratner<\/strong> sale nombrado en todos los fregados, pero habrá que estar pendientes de la inminente evolución de este proyecto.<\/p>\n

\"Cartel<\/p>\n

Vía Shock Till You Drop<\/a>, que cita para variar a Variety<\/a>, descubrimos que el comentario de ayer que indicaba que Matt Reeves<\/strong> tenía entre manos Cloverfield 2<\/strong> (¿?) hoy se convierte en realidad. Paramount Pictures<\/strong> ha anunciado oficialmente que está hablando con el director para que se encargue de la secuela de Cloverfield<\/strong> a.k.a. Monstruoso<\/strong>. Al mismo tiempo Reeves<\/strong> ha firmado con GreeneStreet Films<\/strong> para sacar adelante The Invisible Woman<\/strong> (¿?), film al más puro estilo hitchockiano<\/em> donde una ex-reina de la belleza torna su vida al verse en la necesidad de matar para proteger a su familia. Este proyecto contará también con la producción de J.J. Abrams<\/a> desde Bad Robot<\/strong>. Cuentan que la luz verde para ambas ideas dependerá de lo que tarde Paramount<\/strong> en llegar a un acuerdo con Reeves<\/strong>, Abrams<\/strong> y el guionista Drew Goddard<\/a> para que se saquen de la manga otra aventura monstruosa suficientemente innovadora. En función de ese acuerdo se decidirá el orden de los proyectos aunque, teniendo en cuenta que The Invisible Woman<\/strong> ya cuenta con guión escrito y con el sí de los responsables de GreeneStreet Films<\/strong> pues… blanco y en vasija<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\"Portada<\/p>\n

Recupero ahora unos detalles de una entrevista realizada por el diario USA Today<\/a> al director D.J. Caruso<\/a> sobre Y: The Last Man<\/strong> (¿?). Aprovechando la aparición del número definitivo de la exitosa obra publicada por Vertigo<\/strong>, el diario estadounidense ha decidido charlar con Caruso<\/strong> para ver en que estado se encuentra la adaptación cinematográfica y que intenciones hay sobre ella. Parece ser que el autor de la historia original, Brian K. Vaughan<\/strong>, ha optado por terminar si o si Y: El último hombre<\/a>, cerrar las posibilidades de retorno y cumplir su deseo, ofrecer un final que le de sentido a lo escrito durante estos años. Con esto finiquitado Caruso<\/strong> lo tiene claro, es imposible adaptar Y: El último hombre <\/strong> en una única película por lo que su intención es realizar una trilogía. El primer film contaría lo que acontece en las 14 primeras entregas<\/strong>, además, el guión escrito por él mismo y Carl Ellsworth<\/a> está prácticamente terminado, pero con la huelga de la WGA<\/strong> todavía activa no se le pueden dar los últimos retoques. Eso si, en cuanto termine, un poco de poner cera quitar cera<\/em> y listo para comenzar con la producción. Su deseo, iniciar el tema en agosto de este año después de terminar Eagle Eye<\/a> (2008) y con Shia LaBeouf<\/a> como Yorick<\/strong>. Esperemos que tenga suerte y que New Line Cinema<\/strong> se anime con la adaptación. <\/p>\n
